Cambridge Online has been helping people access devices & the internet for around 30 years.
The charity was originally launched in January 1996 by Anne Campbell MP. Then known as Cambridge Online City, we installed our first public internet terminal at Cambridge Central Library in Lion Yard, along with five other public online access points around Cambridge. This work expanded in 1997 with more access points ad advice hubs with us registering as a company in 1998. Since 2003 we have been a registered charity.
Over the years we’ve worked towards digital inclusion by empowering individuals to overcome their individual barriers.
These barriers, unique to each person mean that access to key services or online savings are prohibited,
individuals are left isolated without connection to friends or family,
opportunity to gain knowledge or skills is diminished.
Our aim is to make sure this does not happen by providing
Safe learning spaces
